چکیده
The materials of the study: background concentrations mercury dissolved in water and precipitated bottom sediments 95 lakes. Methods: a total 332 samples lake 37 were collected during ecological monitoring petroleum deposit areas between 2007–2011. Results: mean concentration had values 0.046±0.012 mg/kg 0.025±0.014 waters, respectively. highest Hg found eluvial transeluvial positions, lowest – superaqual landscapes. was string bogs (ridge-hollow-pool complex bogs) mineral soils. There is general tendency to for an increase lakes from tundra zone through northern taiga middle subzone. However, characterized by significant (R = 0.4) south north due proportion same direction. Dissolved significantly (R=0.6) increased west east assessment seasonal dynamics contents showed that winter.

Intercomparison of MODIS and VIIRS Fire Products in Khanty-Mansiysk Russia: Implication for Characterizing Gas Flaring from Space
Gas flaring is commonly used by industrial plants for processing oil and natural gases in the atmosphere, and hence is an important anthropogenic source for various pollutants including CO2, CO, and aerosols. This study evaluates the feasibility of using satellite data to characterize gas flaring form space by focusing on the Khanty Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug in Russia, a region that is well kno...

BACKGROUND The Russian Arctic covers an enormous landmass with diverse environments. It inhabits more than 20 different ethnic groups, all of them with various living conditions and food traditions. Indigenous populations with a traditional way of living are exposed to a large number of anthropogenic pollutants, such as persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and toxic metals, mainly through the d...

Organic matter. Coarse woody debris (CWD) is thought to be important as cover for fish in the littoral zone of lakes. Development along the shoreline of lakes was negatively correlated with the density of CWD in lakes (Christensen et al. 1996). France et al. (1996) found that losses of leaf litter due to riparian clear cutting along lakes could result in substantial losses of dissolved organic ...

Because of climate change and resource development there is an ongoing increase in the attention directed towards high latitude areas. Over the last years, warming in the Arctic has accelerated quickly. The warming climate can possibly lead to thawing of ground ice, which in turn leads to alterations of the cryosphere. This can have a huge influence on the terrestrial hydrology of the Arctic an...
